Welcome to Idaho Falls


Location & Demographics -  Idaho Falls is the county seat for Bonneville County.  Data from the 2010 U.S. Census shows Idaho Falls as the fourth largest city of 56,813, growing by 12.0 percent from the last census.  A metro population fo 130,234. 

 


The city is located on the banks of the Snake River a hub to all of eastern Idaho and much of western Wyoming.  It is often featured in various publications' list of best places to live because of its relative economic vitality, and high quality of life. 

Parks & Recreation -  It is at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and is the gateway to tourism to Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, gateway to world class skiing, snowmobiling, miles of hiking trails and boasts the best fly fishing around.  There are multiple parks including the most known Tauphaus Park, which features a zoo, ice-hockey rink, tennis courts, multiple soccer & baseball fields.  Idaho Falls is also home to the Chukars, a minor baseball league and has multiple golf courses

Education -  There are several higher education facilities in Idaho Falls;    
Eastern Idaho Technical College, Idaho State University and University of Idaho.  BYU-I a four year college is only 30 minutes away in Rexburg.  There are two school districts - Idaho Falls School District 91 and Bonneville School District 93.  In addition there are several private schools.
